West Wood Remake HUD
The remake HUD is not decoration. Discord sneak peeks showed a medallion circle plus bars for health, stamina, thirst, and hunger, on top of a hotbar that hides empty slots. If you still play by vibe, you will starve in a blizzard with a full flashlight. This page is the meter manual.
Original West Wood already printed the important binds in the Roblox description and still watched squads wipe because nobody could drop a can. The remake adds a second literacy: reading four bars while Jerry is in the yard. The inventory sneak peek is the first public look at flashlight, beartrap, and a cleaner hotbar. Discord footage later hung a medallion ring and the survival meters around it. Together they are the HUD.
Read the bars like a route
Health is the vest conversation. Stamina is the sprint conversation — Left Shift is an escape, not a commute. Thirst is summer and heat. Hunger is the oven. If a cold bar exists in your build, chimneys and cooked food are not flavor. If a breathing bar exists while hiding, treat it like a QTE you play by sitting still. The planner cannot see your HUD; you have to tell it the sky, then obey the meters yourself.
The inventory clip is also a philosophy clip. Empty slots disappear so you stop collecting junk. Cameras peek later flashed a radio GUI and a signal tower, which is a comms landmark on key locations, not a second health bar. Keep the HUD for body and kit. Keep the map for town. Mixing them is how people die staring at a tablet on a porch.
Binds that feed the HUD
Backspace drops. G opens contracts. H is accessories. T unlocks mouse. Console mirrors that on B/Circle, Y/Triangle, D-Pad Down, left stick sprint. None of those keys fill thirst. They only stop you from dying to a stuck cursor while the hunger bar ticks. Pair this page with PC or console and mobile, then go buy food. A perfect bind set with an empty stomach is still a corpse with good posture.
When a patch adds numbers to the bars, we will write the numbers. Until then, play as if every meter can kill you before Jerry does. That is the remake’s quieter horror, and it is why seasons, cooking, and this HUD page had to exist beside the Wendigo manual.
